Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist

Members: complete a program of formation, and renew every three years, as appropriate.
Purpose of Organization: The Minister of Communion will take care and exercise reverence in giving the consecrated bread and wine to the communicants.
Meeting Time and Place: Appointed members follow the schedule and arrive at least 20 minutes before Mass begins. Full training will be provided.
Invitation to New Members: If you wish to be a Eucharistic Minister, please set up a meeting with the Pastor. Some characteristics of a suitable candidate include:
* a love of liturgy and concern for how it unfolds,
* firm intention of heart to participate fully in the practice of our faith,Eucharist2
* action with dignity and humility in service to God and the people of God.
Other: Ministers of the Eucharist may also be appointed as Communion Ministers to the Sick, bringing Holy Communion to the housebound and hospitalized.
Ministers of the Eucharist also accept the role of Ministers of Hospitality prior to Mass, especially on their scheduled days, greeting the members of the assembly as they arrive in the foyer.
Ministers of the Eucharist carry the “Book of Compassion” during the Procession and return it to foyer after the recessional.
